FAT BLACK SEXY MAMA
The name of the group “Fat Black Sexy Mama” which at first sounds provocative
comes from a story loaded with emotion. After a concert in the
80’s of the Americain artist, Sandra Reaves Philips, Hedi (who created
FBSM and plays the drums) read an article by the music critic of the Chicago
Tribune entitled: “The perfect big, fat, black sexy mama”! For years,
this description stuck to his memory.
In 2007, an encounter between Hedi and Nico (singer) led to the creation of
the Fat Black Sexy Mama. The band was completed with the arrival of three
prodigies: on guitar Tommy G. Alexander, on bass Johnsy Dole., on piano
and keyboards Netza R. ! Tommy G. and Johnsy D. come more from the
metal-punk universe, while Netza R. landed on the Rock planet after having
spent a large part of his life studying and playing classical music.
The influences of the band are multiple, their backgrounds diverse and their
tastes eclectic. Rock is their common thread.

FBSM brought out 2 singles in 2008, “Stand up and dance “ and “There’s a
place“. An amazing album, varied and rich in tones was completed in early
2009:

Distributed by FNAC Switzerland, Earbuzz.com, Amazon.com, Napster, Rhapsody,
Itunes, etc… playlisted by last Swiss and foreign radios (Radio
Swisspop, Rouge FM, OneFM (Switzerland) Radio RTCI (Tunis), Radio Belgrade
International, Radio Nip et 202 (Belgrade), Radiorockcafe (Montreal),
That Channel (Toronto), TV Metroplis, TVm3 etc..), the 11 songs from the
album have been very well received by the public.
The songs “Stand up and dance…”and “Bring me to life” have been remixed
by famous DJ ‘s Romain Pelletti (France) and Igor Blasca (Switzerland).
FBSM held various concerts through out Switzerland and toured in Serbia during
the summer of 2009 attending notably the famous rock festival-Belgrade
Beerfest Festival where FBSM performed in front of 200’000 people!
The band is planning several concert for 2010 in Switzerland, UK, Tunisia,
Canada, USA...
